Hi everyone,
Welcome back! I hope you had a great weekend! Today we're going to do a few things. First, i'd like to introduce our student teacher for this year, Mr. Chomitz! Mr. Chomitz is a master of physics (literally), but he will be flexing his other science muscles in our class and will help us get through Biology. We will quickly go over the homework (last two questions about volume) before you hand it in. Finally, time to learn about the parts, functions, and operation of a compound microscope. We'll label the microscope, show you how to use it, then you can test it out on several different pre-made slides. Mr. Stevens

Hi grade 8's
Welcome to Friday the 13th! Anyhow, nothing too spooky today. We're going to: 1. Hand in the safety contract 2. Get a brief demo on how to use some common science equipment 3. Complete worksheets 1.1 and 1.2 on Equipment and measurement 4. Have time to walk around the class to complete your safety map --> due next class Also, please bring 25 cents next day. We use this money to purchase hand soap (that isn't awful) and kleenex (for when you need to cry during a test...or you know, blow your nose). Thanks and have a great weekend! Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to class. Today is our first HIP day of the year, so class is a bit shorter. We will be doing all the safety stuff I had planned last class, but was interrupted by the assembly. EDIT: OOPS! I forgot we have our assembly this morning! We'll do everything below next class (wednesday) Morning science 8! Today we'll be finishing off our safety stuff. We will make a quick map of the classroom, show you how to use the safety devices and get you acquainted (re-acquainted?) with the WHMIS safety symbols. We will also sign our safety contract (copy below) and if we have time, we'll sign out some textbooks. Hi grade 8's! Welcome to class! Today we'll be starting things off by going over the course outline, discussing some of the safety rules in class and having you sketch out a quick diagram of the class including all the important safety features. I have also attached the course outline below in the unlikely event you misplace yours!
